We’ve written before about how homes with great curb appeal sell faster and for a higher price. But what if you don’t want your home to sell fast or for a high price? Well you could always do these things to ruin your curb appeal…

Stop mowing the lawn.

If you’re looking for the easiest way to ruin your curb appeal, then stop mowing your lawn! Absolutely no effort required!

Let the landscaping die.

This one is also completely effortless. Next time you think of planting some seasonal flowers or watering your shrubbery, simply don’t!

Get that junk out on the lawn.

Alright, it’s time to put in a little elbow grease now. Think of all that junk you have lying around your house. An old fridge, a washer that doesn’t work, children’s toys? Get that stuff out in the yard!

Get rid of all the lighting.

Is your house too warm and inviting? Don’t worry; it’s fixable. Simply get rid of all your outdoor lighting. With the warm glow of your outdoor lights gone and a few large bushes, you can easily make your home reminiscent of the one in your favorite horror movie!

Put out lots and lots of lawn décor.

Having one piece of lawn décor to serve as a focal point in your yard can really spice up your curb appeal. But if you want to ruin your curb appeal, you’ll need tons of pieces of lawn décor. Try for several focal pieces so that people’s eyes never get bored and then place tons of smaller pieces of décor all around the yard!

By following these four tips, you can easily ruin your curb appeal, but if you decide that you actually would like your home to sell quickly and efficiently, Dirty Work can help. We can haul your junk, remove your lawn waste and do pretty much anything else you’ll need done to increase your curb appeal. Find us on Facebook or Twitter for more information.
