We’ve written blog posts before on how to pick a demolition contractor. (You can view them here, here and here.) Most of them focused on questions about insurance, licenses, experience, etc.,  But what happens after you’ve created a short list of demolition contractors who have insurance, years of experience and all the proper licenses? Well then, you’re ready to ask the second most important question…what are you going to do with all of my job’s waste?

Wait…didn’t the title of this article say this article was going to be about the most important question to ask your demolition contractor and now we’re saying this is the second most important question? So, what gives?

Well honestly, of course, making sure your demolition contractor is licensed and insured is the most important thing you can do, but most contractors who have been in business a reasonable amount of time will be both licensed and insured. It’s hard to stay around long if you’re not. However, many demolition contractors have been in business for a long time and still improperly handle their client’s waste.

Some of them don’t even handle their client’s waste at all! They expect you to call a completely different company to haul away your trash or rent a dumpster and figure it out yourself. Or a lot of companies will haul away your trash, but they’ll take it to the landfill instead of recycling it! In fact, only 30% of demolition waste gets recycled!

We went into the Austin trash removal business to solve this problem. At Dirty Work, we have a simple mission – to help you get all your dirty work done with only one call! Don’t call one company for your Austin demolition services, then call another company to haul away your trash. Just make one call to us and we’ll handle it all!
